    Le Train Bleu

If you are looking for a unique French food experience in Paris, make a reservation at Le Train Blue.  Located in the train station at Gare de Lyon, this beautiful restaurant offers views of the station while you enjoy a fancy meal.  This beautiful, ornate restaurant opened in 1901 as part of the 1900 Exhibition and boasts 41 beautiful paintings depicting rail network sites and events during the 1900’s.  As you enter the famous restaurant, you feel as if you were transported

Brassaï – For The Love of Paris

Last week I visited the Brassaï photography exhibit at Hotel de Ville in Paris.  The exhibit shows the work of Brassaï and his vision of Paris from his early childhood memories of the Belle Epoque time period capturing the life and times of the city through the 1930’s and 40’s.  The time where elegance reigned supreme, the photographs show Paris through the nightlife, races at Longchamp, and acrobats at the famous Buffalo Bill Circus.  He also photographed the less noticed pa

    Germany’s Flower Maker

Traditional craft of Europe is something that will always fascinate me, and is why I originally came to France.  The atelier houses that have existed for hundreds of years are built around a sense of pride and history.  The traditional techniques that are still used today are a dying trade and something we must not take for granted.  More and more of these studios are closing their doors, so we must shed light on those that are still left standing. Hand Painted Textiles at Roberto Cavalli

In the spirit of Couture Week which starts next week, I have been busy watching YouTube videos showing the behind the scenes works of some of the most influential fashion houses in the world.  I came across this one showcasing beautiful, hand painted fabrics in the Roberto Cavalli atelier.  I love the detailed view of the paintings and the way they have shown the process of the fabrics being painted all the way to the final pieces.  The pieces were created for the Fall Winter

    A Day in Montmartre

Today I went for a little walk around Montmartre. I originally went to have a look in the fabric shops there, but once I got there I saw that they were all shut down and under construction. I am not sure if they are closed for good, or will re-open. As I couldn’t get my fabrics I wanted, I decided to take a little walk around the area! I always love going to Montmartre, even though I get harassed by the many guys trying to sell bracelets and bags and get followed by the girls

    Metal People By The Seine

Yesterday my boyfriend and I decided to go for a walk along the Seine to enjoy the nice weather. We decided to go a different way then usual and explore a pathway that we had not taken before. We headed away from the Eiffel Tower and found ourselves at the Statue of Liberty near the Grenelle bridge on the Île aux Cygnes. As we continued along the river, we came upon this great little restaurant overlooking the water. We will definitely be coming here for dinner one night! Nex
