    A Fashionista’s Christmas Wish List

Every year around this time, people ask me what they should get their fashion savvy friends or family. So I thought it would be a great idea to create the ultimate Christmas shopping list for the fashion obsessed loved ones you need to shop for this Christmas. Or perhaps you are the fashionista who is getting her own list ready for Santa. The only problem is that when I started putting together a list, there were just too many to write about in one post! So, over the next cou

The Woman With The Most Birkin Bags In The World

As you all know, I am a little fashion obsessed. So, when I saw this video, I couldn’t believe my eyes. It looks like a little piece of heaven! The video features Jamie Chua, a socialite and entrepreneur. In her closet you’ll find things like a Himalayan crocodile Birkin with white gold detailing and 245 diamonds. This bag costs US$432,000. In 2011, Chua was named as the woman who owns “the most number of Hermes Birkin bags in the world”, which comes as no surprise since she’

    Shoe Styles of 2017

With the start of a new year comes promise, resolutions, and for many fashionistas, a chance to try some new styles!  There is no better place to start with a new fashion style then with a fresh, new pair of shoes.  A new fashionable pair of shoes are an easy way to update any outfit.  As my family lovingly refers to me as Amelda Marcos, of course I am up to date on all the shoe trends for 2017.  Start the new year out on the right foot and take some inspiration from the 2017

    Iris Apfel Documentary

Iris Apfel is an inspiring, fashion icon.  You may remember my previous blog post about her which you can find here. A new documentary directed by Albert Maysles, one half of the legendary documentary team that made “Grey Gardens,” has created this intriguing look into the stylish life of Iris.  I am looking forward to watching this film, and getting a glimpse into the life of this fascinating woman.  If you are a fan of Iris, or just a fan of fashion and style, this will be

    The Passages of Paris

One of my favorite things to do in Paris is to visit the hidden passages throughout the city.  Developed between the late 18th century and the mid-19th century, these covered pedestrian walkways haven’t changed much since their opening so many years ago.  Once you step inside these passages, you will be transported back in time and will feel the spirit of an old time Paris.  Shops in the passages range from stamp traders, to cross stitch shops and unique cafes and bistros.  O

    A Weekend in Rouen, France

This past weekend, Thomas and I decided to hop on another train, this time to explore the city of Rouen which is part of the Normandy region.  The weekend before we had a mini break in Orleans which you can read about here.  This is really becoming a habit, and we are really enjoying exploring the many different regions of France.  After only an hour and half train from Paris, we arrived in Rouen ready to explore this new city.  As soon as we stepped out of the train station

Paris Trend – The Chunky Scarf

Trend Alert!  While walking around Paris this past month, I have noticed the size of scarves are getting larger and larger by the day.  It has not been a really cold winter here in France, but if you looked at how much the people are wrapped up, you would think otherwise.  It seems like the bigger the better here when wearing a wool scarf.  If you are able to wrap it around your neck about 150 times, then you are on trend!  I must admit that it did look cozy all bundled up in

The Best of Paris – The Marais

After living in France for over 4 years now, I like to think I have a little bit of Paris figured out.  I know some of the areas pretty well from living in the neighborhood, and others I love to visit and take in the sights.  I don’t think I am an expert by any means, but I know what areas I like and I know what ones to never venture into.  I get so many requests from people asking what to do in Paris if they come on a holiday, so I thought I would write a series of blog post

    Paris January Sales 2014

♫ It’s the most wonderful time of the year ♫ Yes, it is sale time in Paris!!  France has some sort of law that only allows stores to hold sales twice a year.  One is in January and the other is in July.  The January sales started today (January 8th) and will run until Feb.11th 2014.  I always look forward to the sales in Paris and have spent many hours lining up just to take a look at what the shops have for sale!  Last July, I lined up for 45 mins in department store Galleri

    January Eye Candy

After spending Christmas in Canada, I am now back in Paris and enjoying my window shopping once again! I couldn’t resist taking a stroll along Rue Saint-Honoré and taking a few photos of the fashions and jewelry in the windows of some of my favorite shops. My first stop was Miu Miu where these sparkling heels caught my attention. I also fell in love with the bags in the window! I couldn’t resist stopping by Place Vendome to see the left over decorations from the holidays. Th
