Chanel Métiers d’Art Salzburg 2014/15

Every year, Karl Lagerfeld hosts an amazing fashion show called Métiers d’Art which showcases the work of Chanel’s atelier houses.  This year, the show was held in Salzburg.  Since studying at the Lesage embroidery house myself, I have become increasingly interested in the traditional atelier houses that service the Haute Couture industry.  As the traditional craftsmanship is dying and many atelier houses are slowly disappearing, Chanel have been buying the companies to preserve the history and carry on the traditions.  This spectacular show showcases the various talents of the ateliers and is an ode to the timeless tradition of Haute Couture.  Watch this video for a taste of the latest Métiers d’Art 2014/15 show and the talents of the various atelier houses.  Words cannot describe the works of art that these ateliers produce for the show.
