Pippa Middleton: The Wedding Gown

This weekend was one of the most anticipated weddings of the year, Pippa Middleton and James Matthews.  Although Pippa is not royalty, we certainly think of her as such.  With such a famous royal sister, it is only natural that she has got thrown into the spotlight at well.

But Pippa doesn’t have to rely on sister, Kate to be brought into the public eye.  I am sure we all remember the famous white gown that Pippa wore at the royal wedding which shot her into the fashion spotlight.  She certainly has an eye for fashion and has shown that she can look elegant, chic and sophisticated at any occasion.  Her wedding was certainly one of these times.

Pippa chose to wear a Giles Deacon bespoke lace gown that was romantic, yet contemporary.  The lace-bodied dress featured a heart-shaped keyhole at the back, to add a beautiful focal point as Pippa turned and walked down the aisle. Her high neckline was balanced by a modern, form-fitting silhouette created with a corseted bodice with draping to the front.

The bespoke silk cotton lace was hand appliqued to create an illusion of the dress having no seams.  The lace bodice was hand embroidered with pearls over organza and various layers of tulle underskirt to create floor-sweeping movement.

The beautiful bride accessorized her lace gown with a Maidenhair fern tiara by Robinson Phelham.  She also wore satin Manolo Blahnik heels with pearl accents.
