Shoe Styles of 2017

With the start of a new year comes promise, resolutions, and for many fashionistas, a chance to try some new styles!  There is no better place to start with a new fashion style then with a fresh, new pair of shoes.  A new fashionable pair of shoes are an easy way to update any outfit.  As my family lovingly refers to me as Amelda Marcos, of course I am up to date on all the shoe trends for 2017.  Start the new year out on the right foot and take some inspiration from the 2017 trends available in stores now!

1. Ankle Straps

Ankle straps will help you step into style this year.  Whether they are laced up the leg, or a simple buckle, this style of shoe is the hottest new trend to start off 2017.  The style has been seen on the international runways from Derek Lam to Saint Laurent in various styles and colors.

2. Flatforms

Flatforms are the perfect way to add height, without risking breaking an ankle teetering along on thin heels.  Wear this look to create a chic sophisticated style with a plain black pair, or go high fashion with an over-the-top version by your favorite designer.  Gucci and Phillip Lim showed perfect flatforms during fashion week giving them a nod to 70’s style.

3. Kitten Heel

The kitten heel is back!  I  am so happy to be able to wear a comfortable short heel and still be in the height of fashion!  Seen at Miu Miu, Prada and Jason Wu, this style is going to be favorite for spring and summer trends.

4. Mid-high Boots

Mid-high boots are a perfect way to transition from winter into spring as the weather warms up and you start to peel off some layers of clothing.  The spring style of boot can be any design, with a heel, or without, either way you will be on trend this coming season.

5. Embellished Shoes

Perhaps my favorite of the new trends for 2017 are the embellished shoes.  From sandals to boots, this trend has been seen all over the runways for 2017.  Beads, baubles  3D embroidery, and flowers create these embellished looks that are a feast for the eyes.
